On the occasion of International Women’s Day, the newly elected BJP government has cleared the Mahila Samridhi Yojana during a Cabinet meeting. The scheme, given immense push during the election campaign, aims to provide Rs 2,500 monthly to women aged 21-60, who earn up to Rs 3 lakh per year.
The government has allocated Rs 5,100 crore for the scheme’s implementation, Union minister and BJP National President J P Nadda announced.
