Many women lawyers and activists were among protesters outside the Supreme Court on Tuesday as they questioned the clean chit given to Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi in a sexual harassment case a day ago. This comes after the three-judge top court panel headed by Justice S.A. Bobde found no substance on Monday in the sexual harassment allegations leveled by a former apex court employee against Chief Justice Gogoi.
"Procedure seems to be totally unjust... Why can't the victim be given the report? It's wrong. When they are dismissing the matter, more questions are being raised about the procedures adopted by the Supreme Court. It's injustice," said CPI(M) leader Brinda Karat.
