The Supreme Court on Friday asked the Centre whether there is a protocol for internet shutdowns. The apex court was hearing a plea which alleged arbitrary internet shutdowns in Arunachal Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan and West Bengal. The SC bench said instead of issuing notices to the four states, notice should be sent to the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology.
