The Peace Walk, held in London for the last six years to mark the birth anniversary of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, the leader of the Indian Independence movement and a pioneer of the philosophy and non-violence strategy, was held virtually this year under Covid's government safety guidelines. Bob Blackman MP from Hero East and Barry Gardiner MP from Brent North, Former Cabinet Minister of State for Gujarat, Dr. Vallabhbhai Kathiria, Vijay Mehta, Convener of Overseas Friends of BJP for UK and Europe, took part and delivered motivational speeches paying homage to Gandhi.
The previous year, Sharad Parikh, Trustee of the Geeta Foundation, and Praveen Amin, President of the National Association of Patidar Samaj, in partnership with the Indian High Commission, laid a wreath at the statue of Gandhibapu at Square and walked to Parliament Square to pay homage to the statue.
Keeping this occasion in mind, the documentary on Bapu was premiered by Dr. Dhimant Purohit, Editor of the Newz Viewz web channel. On this occasion, Mahendrasinh C Jadeja (Dada), Anita Ruparelia, and GM Patel presented Gujaratis in the UK. Ajita, a dynamic news presenter from Delhi, served as the moderator while prayers and Bhajan were presented by Dhirubhai Gadhvi of Brighton.
