Team India captain Virat Kohli has been fined 25% match fee for excessive appealing against Afghanistan in 2019 World Cup on Saturday. Kohli had advanced towards umpire Aleem Dar in an aggressive manner in Afghanistan's 29th over while appealing for an LBW decision. Earlier in the match, Kohli was also seen arguing with the on-field umpires after a DRS call.
“Kohli was found to have breached Article 2.1 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to ‘Excessive appealing during an International Match’,” an ICC release said.
