Northern Railway on Monday, September 9, accepted the resignations of wrestlers Vinesh Phogat and Bajrang Punia from their respective jobs. Last week the two wrestlers had tendered resignations before joining Congress.
After joining Congress Phogat was announced as the party's candidate from the Julana constituency for the upcoming Haryana elections while Punia was appointed the working chairman of All India Kisan Congress by the party.
