Arif Pathan, a 24-year-old Army man posted in Jammu & Kashmir, had called up his mother on Sunday and hung up after talking for a few minutes. His family had little idea that this would be his last call to them.
Pathan, a native of Vadodara, was martyred in crossborder shelling by Pakistan near Line of Control (LoC) in Akhnoor on Monday morning. Pathan was serving as constable (general duty) in 18 J&K Rifles.
