Reserve Bank of Bank governor Shaktikanta Das on Friday, April 5, announced that the RBI will propose to allow users to deposit cash in cash deposit machines (CDMs) through the Unified Payments Interface (UPI).
Follow these steps to use the new UPI-based cash deposit system:
Select "UPI Cardless Cash" on the ATM screen option which starts the cardless withdrawal process.
Then you need to pick the amount.
Scan the QR Code which can be done via your smartphone with a UPI app installed.
Use the app to scan the QR code displayed on the ATM screen.
Confirm with your UPI PIN to validate the UPI ATM withdrawal.
After this, alll you need to do is collect the cash.
