A day before a local court was to hear her anticipatory bail plea, the 23-year-old law student who had accused former Union minister Chinmayanand of rape, was arrested by the SIT on Wednesday morning. A local ACJM court later rejected her regular bail application and remanded her in 14 days’ judicial custody. In a parallel FIR, the girl and three youths were accused of asking Rs 5 crore as extortion money from Chinmayanand.
