January 24, 1950 is the day the erstwhile United Provinces was rechristened as Uttar Pradesh, by showcasing UP’s rich cultural heritage. “BJP and the Yogi government believe that identity of the state and the country lies in its birth,” said cabinet minister Sidharth Nath Singh.
