Two people have been arrested in connection with a blast at Punjab BJP leader Manoranjan Kalia's residence in Jalandhar, a senior police officer said on Tuesday. He further stated that the e-rickshaw used in the crime has also been recovered.
According to police inputs, the mastermind behind the grenade attack in Jalandhar was Zeeshan Akhtar, a close associate of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. Police believe that the attack was part of a larger ISI-backed plot to disrupt communal harmony in Punjab. Zeeshan Akhtar is also wanted in the high-profile Baba Siddique murder case.
