Former US President Donald Trump on Monday (local time) secured a major triumph in the New Hampshire primary ahead of the presidential elections in November this year, tightening his grip on the Republican presidential nomination and bolstering chances of a 2020 rematch with President Joe Biden.
The results proved a setback for Indian-origin former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley, the sole challenger for Trump after Florida Governor Ron DeSantris ended his presidential bid over the weekend.
According to estimates by the Associated Press, Trump has secured 36,655 votes (52.5 per cent), while Nikki Haley managed to garner 34,013 votes (46.5 per cent) as of 6:30 am (US time).
