Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed grief over the death of well-known Gujarati poet Anil Joshi. Joshi passed away on February 26 after a brief hospitalisation on Wednesday. He was 85.
The Prime Minister wrote a letter to Sanket A Joshi, conveying his heartfelt condolences.
"It was very sad to hear the news of Anilbhai's death. He enriched the Gujarati language through various mediums like poetry, essays, stories, editing and column writing. His works are fresh and full of everyday life references as well as deep feelings and emotions. His entire creation will remain a capital for Gujarati literature " reads the letter.
"Gujarati literature has suffered a great loss with his departure. May God grant peace to the departed soul. Condolences to his family and fans", the Prime Minister added.
