The Adult Training Centre for the Blind, a unit of Blind People's Association has developed and Electronic Tricycle with the support and initiative of young professionals, Mr Yash Ramani and Mr Mathan Patel of Alter EV Conversion Pvt Ltd, a Start Up. This is a very simple, cost effective and functional model of EV Tricycle. This tricycle has three variants - each with battery capacity that enables user to go for 25 to 100 Kms after charging the battery.

Thus the Handika Tricycle Ev 25 enables a user to travel for 25 Kms after single charge of the battery. This model of Ev 25 is priced at Rs 30,000 inclusive of GST only. This probably is the most economical model launched so far in the country. As the design of Handika Tricycle is very simple and batter system is also very simple, the EV tricycle can be maintained by any mechanic providing services on tricycle repair even in remote village. Mr Rajesh Shah, Chartered Accountant of Naushir Marfatia & Co has come forward to sponsor distribution of first 5 Evs to needy persons with disabilities. The Tricycle Ev shall be presented to Ms Nita, a student of DTP course of Industrial Training Centre of BPA. In a short time, 4 more persons with disabilities shall be provided such Evs free of cost.
