Ahead of interim budget 2019 presentation, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MPs came up in black dress to protect against the central government. The MPs are still protesting in parliament demanding special category status for Andhra Pradesh. At present as many as 11 states have been granted financial aid.

On the first day of budget session TDP leaders were seen holding yellow placards and flags displaying various demands, which includes financial assistance to the state capital, Amravati.
