Tamil Nadu on Wednesday reported its first case of the new coronavirus variant Omicron as a 47-year-old man who returned from Nigeria tested positive, Health Minister Ma Subramanian said. On Tuesday, Subramanian had said his samples, as well as those of six close contacts, were sent to Bengaluru. They were admitted to King Institute in Guindy, he added.
