The Tamil Nadu government has issued new guidelines banning New Year celebrations on beaches and public places across the state.In a statement, Tamil Nadu DGP said that no celebrations will be allowed in beaches and in public places. Further, police have advised citizens against drink and drive, warning them of arrests and seizure of vehicles. According to police, road rage cases will also be dealt with severe punishment. Besides, all hotels will have to continue following the present SOP and will have to end the operation by 11 pm. Restrictions also apply to private parties as part of New Year celebrations.
