Tamil Nadu chief minister Edappadi K Palaniswami on Thursday announced that his government will set up an inquiry commission headed by a retired judge of Madras high court to probe into the circumstances leading to the death of former chief minister J Jayalalithaa. Her residence at Poes Garden will also be converted into a memorial, he said. Announcing the decision in a hurriedly convened press meet at the Secretariat, Palaniswami said the retired judge would be named soon. "Action will be taken in a timely manner," he said, on the terms and tenure of the inquiry panel.
