The Supreme Court of India suspended its hearings for the day as a mark of respect to Late Justice Mohan M Shantanagoudar who passed away on April 24, 2021.Chief Justice of India NV Ramana and other judges, who were slated to hear cases today, gathered in the Court and observed two-minute silence, before the CJI said that the hearings today would stand suspended.
"There’s an important announcement. The Judicial business of today will remain suspended as a mark of respect and all matters listed today will be taken up tomorrow," said CJI Ramana.
