A petition filed by journalist Tarun Tejpal to cancel the sexual assault case filed against him by a junior colleague has been rejected by the Supreme Court. The top court also ordered that the trial against Tarun Tejpal in a Goa court be completed within the next six months.

Tejpal is currently on bail and has approached the top court against the Goa high court’s refusal to discharge him. The trial in the case, which is going on in a local court in Goa, was put on hold after Tejpal moved Supreme Court.
