The five new judges appointed to the Supreme Court took the oath of office today. Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud administered the oath to the five judges in a ceremony held at the Supreme Court's auditorium in its new building complex.
The names of five judges - Justice Pankaj Mithal, Justice Sanjay Karol, Justice P. V. Sanjay Kumar, Justice Ahsanuddin Amanullah and Justice Manoj Misra -- were cleared by the Union government two days ago. The names of these judges were recommended by the Supreme Court Collegium in December last year.
