The Supreme Court has dismissed the petition challenging the rejection of mercy plea of Nirbhaya convict Mukesh Singh. A three-judge bench headed by Justice R Banumathi pronounced the verdict on Wednesday on convict Mukesh Kumar Singh’s plea. Dismissing the petition of 2012 Delhi gangrape convict Mukesh Singh, the Supreme Court said there is no merit in the contention. “alleged torture can’t be a ground, all documents were placed before the President and he had taken them into consideration,” the Supreme Court said.
