The Centre has said there is a shortage of 1,35,784 personnel in the three armed forces with maximum vacancies in the Army at 1,16,464. The shortage includes soldiers and officers. The annual average recruitments in the Air Force, Navy and Army are 5,723, 5,332 and 60,000 respectively, Minister of State for Defence Ajay Bhatt said.
