An elderly patient, who was seriously injured in a road accident, was left upside down on a stretcher allegedly by an ambulance driver for vomiting and urinating inside the vehicle. The accused driver left the patient in a semi-inverted position outside Thrissur Medical College Hospital and went to clean the ambulance. The patient died a few hours later. He was first taken to a private hospital nearby and later shifted to the Palakkad district hospital. On Friday night, he was moved to Thrissur for better care.
