Benchmark stock market indices surged sharply on Wednesday, following early-session volatility driven by uncertainty over the US elections.
In the stock market by 2:28 pm, the S&P BSE Sensex was up by 1055.31 points, reaching 80,531.94, while the NSE Nifty50 gained 311.95 points, trading at 24,525.25.
Trump has already declared victory, and his win appears to have fuelled optimism on Dalal Street. Most broader market indices also saw gains as volatility eased with the election outcome becoming clearer.
