The Indian markets scaled fresh record highs in the afternoon deals on Wednesday. The benchmark S&P BSE Sensex breached the crucial 46,000 level for the first time ever while NSE's Nifty crossed 13,500-mark. Barring Nifty Metal, all sectoral indices on the NSE were trading in the green, led by Nifty IT, Private Bank, and Realty indices, up 1 per cent each. In the broader market, the S&P BSE MidCap and SmallCap indices were both up 0.6 per cent.
