China has reported over 101 new coronavirus cases in the mainland for July 28, reported news agency Reuters. This is the highest single-day spike in over 3 and a half months, according to the country's health commission. China, which had earlier relaxed norms after the virus threat decreased, has again moved quickly to stamp out eruptions by contact tracing and re-shutting affected areas. Many new infections have been reported from western region of Xinjiang, where 89 new cases were reported on July 28. One case was reported from Beijing while three were imported cases.
