The Supreme Court has issued notices to Delhi, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, and West Bengal governments over the condition of government hospitals in the states. In Delhi, notice has been issued to LNJP hospital and other hospitals. The chief secretaries of states have been asked to take immediate notice of the status of patients admitted to government hospitals in their states. Details of patient care, staff etc should be brought before the court so that appropriate directions can be issued, the SC has said. The court has also asked the Center to file a detailed reply on guidelines that have been issued for patient care and disposal of dead bodies.
