The Supreme Court collegium has cleared the names of four judges for appointment as chief justices of the high courts of Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana and Himachal Pradesh. It has also recommended elevation of two advocates as judges of the Madhya Pradesh HC. The collegium, comprising Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi and Justices S A Bobde and N V Ramana recommended appointment of Gujarat High Court’s Justice D N Patel as Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court. The post will be falling vacant in June on retirement of present Chief Justice Rajendra Menon.
