After a couple of near misses from India’s starstudded shooting team, it fell on a 16-year-old son of a farmer from Meerut to finally land a gold on the third day of the competition at the Asian Games on Tuesday.
Saurabh Chaudhary, competing in his first seniors’ event, showed amazing composure beyond his age to win the men’s 10m air pistol event with a new Games record score in Palembang and become the youngest Indian to bag an Asiad gold. This was only the fifth shooting gold for India in the history of the games.
