The 32-year-old woman who was raped in Mumbai's Saki Naka area has died during treatment, the Rajawadi Hospital in Ghatkopar confirmed on Saturday.The crime took place in the early hours of Friday at Khairani Road in Saki Naka area of Mumbai. The accused first raped the woman and then inserted a rod in her private parts, leaving her in a critical condition. Senior cops from Mumbai Police reached the Rajawadi Hospital Ghatkopar.

The police got hold of the CCTV footage of the incident, which confirmed the assault on the woman. After assaulting the woman, the accused put her in a tempo and escaped. A passerby later found the woman unconscious and in a pool of blood and informed the police.
