City administration and shopkeepers anticipate huge crowds outside stores to end the dry-run of greens. Rajiv Gupta, additional chief secretary (environment and forest), who has been appointed in-charge of Covid-19-control measures in Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar, however, appealed citizens to maintain social distancing and avoid overcrowding.
“I appeal that women must step out for shopping from 8am to 11am and men venture out only after 11 am. People must wear masks.” Shopping is permitted only between 8 am and 3 pm.
