Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel announced a compensation of ₹4 lakh to the families of the 12 people who died after a wall of a salt factory collapsed in Gujarat's Morbi. "My condolences to the bereaved families," Patel tweeted. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also expressed grief at the loss of lives in the mishap and called the tragedy "heart-rending".
