Maharashtra government has appointed a one-member panel, comprising retired Bombay High Court judge Kailash Chandiwal, to probe corruption allegations levelled against state Home Minister Anil Deshmukh. The allegations were levelled against Deshmukh by former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh, alleging that Deshmukh had asked Sachin Vaze to collect ₹100 crore from bars and restaurants.
