India's largest petrochemical company Reliance Industries is launching a project to use common single-use plastics mixed with bitumen in road construction. The Mukesh Ambani-led company said it will approach the NHAI and states to supply the plastics-infused mix to make roads. Reliance has already resurfaced over 40 kilometres of road using plastic waste at a manufacturing site in Maharashtra.
