Congress leader Randeep Surjewala said the reduction in Employees' Provident Fund Organisation interest rate was a "return gift" of the BJP to people after it won Assembly elections in four states. "Is it right to attack...savings of crores of employees on...basis of electoral victory?" he asked. EPFO has lowered the interest rate on provident fund deposits for 2021-22 to 8.1%.
