Gujarat on Saturday became the second Indian state after Maharashtra to cross 5,000 Covid-19 cases. The state added 333 cases in 24 hours, taking the total tally to 5,054.
It was also the day of highest single-day deaths and discharges. Gujarat recorded 26 deaths and 160 discharges, surpassing the figures it recorded on Friday. Ahmedabad was the worst affected with highest 20 deaths and 250 cases in 24 hours.
