“Small football club from Kashmir that dares to dream big!” That’s how Kashmir’s only I-League team describes itself on its social media page. To help them realise those dreams, Real Kashmir FC has roped in Kashif Siddiqi, a London-born defender of Pakistani descent.
Siddiqi, who joins Kashmir on loan from Oxford United, is also the co-founder of a UN initiative called Football for Peace. The 33-year-old is travelling to New York to address the 74th UN General Assembly next week where he will speak on the power of football.
