Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Raveesh Kumar said on Thursday that the government reached out to countries across the world on the issues of the Citizenship Amendment Act and the National Register of Citizens. "We emphasised that CAA just expedites consideration for Indian Citizenship to persecuted minorities...It doesn't change basic structure of the Constitution," he added.
