The Supreme Court has differed further hearing of the one of the most important case related to Sri Ram Temple at Ayodhya till February 8, 2018. Before differing the till next year, the Supreme Court began the final hearing in the long-standing Ayodhya dispute on Tuesday. The date of hearing comes just a dau before the 25th anniversary of the demolition of the Babri masjid. The stakeholders in the case had moved the apex court after the Allahabad HC directed the Sunni Waqf Board, the Nirmohi Akhara and the Lord Ram Lalla to settle for a three-way division of the disputed site.
A specially constituted bench of Chief Justice Dipak Misra and Justices Ashok Bhushan and Abdul Nazeer is hearing 13 appeals filed against the 2010 judgement of the Allahabad High Court in four civil suits. The high court had then ruled a three-way division of the disputed 2.77 acre area at Ayodhya among the parties - the Sunni Waqf Board, the Nirmohi Akhara and the Lord Ram Lalla.
