Raj Kundra was arrested late on Monday in a pornography-related case and was produced before the Esplanade Court on Tuesday afternoon. The businessman has been sent to judicial custody till July 23, along with Ryan Tharp, who was arrested from the Nerul area on Tuesday morning. Soon after his arrest on Monday, Mumbai Police Commissioner, Hemant Nagrale had confirmed in a statement, "There was a case registered with Crime Branch Mumbai in February 2021 about the creation of pornographic films and publishing them through some Apps. We’ve arrested Mr Raj Kundra in this case on 19/7/21 as he appears to be the key conspirator of this." He was then sent to JJ hospital by the Property Cell of Mumbai Police's Crime Branch.
