Rajasthan CM Vasundhara Raje announced a 4% reduction in VAT on petrol and diesel on Sunday, which will reduce their prices by Rs 2.5 per litre in the state. VAT on petrol will be reduced from 30% to 26% and on diesel from 22% to 18%, Raje said. The decision will cost the exchequer Rs 2,000 crore.
Meanwhile, Congress has called a ‘Bharat Bandh’ on Monday to protest against the steep rise in fuel prices. AAP and Sena will stay out of the agitation.
