Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday lashed out at the Centre over a stake sale report in the Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC). According to the report, the government may sell up to 25 per cent stake in the country's biggest state-run insurer. The former Congress president alleged that the Centre is running a 'sell government company' campaign. He also stated that the government is selling the nation's assets to compensate the economic crisis created by it. Selling LIC is yet another "shameful attempt" of the government to risk people's future and trust, he tweeted in Hindi. On Monday, the Congress leader had accused the government of privatising public sector units (PSUs) and destroying jobs.
