Punjab CM Charanjit Singh Channi on Monday announced slashing of power rates by Rs 3 per unit for domestic consumers. While making the announcement, Channi claimed that the decision will benefit 95% of residents in Punjab. An 11% hike in DA (from 17% to 28%) for state government employees was also announced in a press conference by the CM on Monday.
