India on Sunday paid tribute to 40 martyred soldiers who died in a terror attack in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir on February 14, 2019, after a suicide bomber rammed an IED-laden vehicle into the security convoy. The day marks two years of the Pulwama terror attack. Union Home Minister Amit Shah paid tribute to the "brave martyrs who lost their lives in the gruesome Pulwama attack". In a tweet, Amit Shah said, "I bow down to the brave martyrs who lost their lives in the gruesome Pulwama attack on this day in 2019. India will never forget their exceptional courage and supreme sacrifice." 

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Aditaynath and other BJP leaders also paid tribute to the martyred jawans.

"I pay homage to those brave @crpfindia personnel who sacrificed their lives in the 2019 Pulwama terror attack. India will never forget their service to the nation and their supreme sacrifice. We continue to stand with their families, who had to suffer due to this attack," Singh tweeted on Sunday.
