Human rights organisation People's Union for Civil Liberties has asked Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot not to use the Sedition law against adversaries. "Nehru called the sedition law obnoxious and your own party's Lok Sabha manifesto in 2019 said it was misused and redundant and had to go," PUCL pointed out. It further suggested that Prevention of Corruption Act can be used in the place of sedition. "On behalf of the PUCL, we appeal that the misuse of the law on sedition should be stopped altogether and be repealed from the statute books at the earliest," the organisation demanded.
