The Supreme Court on Monday asked the Centre to consider providing protection to the parents of a 19-year-old who was killed in a road rage incident by Manipur chief minister N Biren Singh's son Ajay Singh in 2011. The parents have accused the CM of harassing them for pursuing a case against his son. A bench of Justices A K Sikri and Deepak Gupta said there was nothing wrong in granting them protection and asked additional solicitor general Maninder Singh to seek the government's view whether security by a central force could be provided to the family.
