Former President and veteran Congress leader Pranab Mukherjee will be presented with the Bharat Ratna on Thursday evening. Pranab Mukherjee was awarded the Bharat Ratna, India's highest civilian honour, in January, along with Bharatiya Jan Sangh founder Nanaji Deshmukh and noted singer-musician Bhupen Hazarika.
President Ramnath Kovind will be presenting Pranab Mukherjee with the Bharat Ratna at the Rashtrapati Bhavan on Thursday at 6 pm. Nanaji Deshmukh and Bhupen Hazarika, who have been awarded the Bharat Ratna posthumously, will also be honoured at the ceremony in Delhi.
Pranab Mukherjee, 83, served as the President of India since 2012 to 2017.
