Prime Minister Narendra Modi is not on the new social media platform, Tooter, government officials have said after a ‘verified’ handle of the Prime Minister has featured on that platform. “The Prime Minister has not joined Tooter,” an official said. The ‘Tooter’ platform is described as a “Swadeshi social network” and welcomes one to a “Swadeshi Andolan 2.0” on its homepage. It shows Narendra Modi having a ‘verified’ handle on the platform, though the verification process of the platform has been unclear. The said handle shows 20,400 followers and about 778 posts, and the posts are mostly the same as what the Prime Minister posts on Twitter. Government officials said the posts on Tooter in the PM’s name seem to be copied from the tweets from his personal handle on the Twitter Platform. “The PM is not present on Tooter,” they said.
