Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana 2.0 in which he announced that beneficiaries will get the first refill and a hotplate free of cost along with the LPG connections.PM Modi handed over LPG connections to women beneficiaries in Mahoba on Tuesday during a virtual event.

Along with a deposit-free LPG connection, Ujjwala 2.0 will provide the first refill and a hotplate free of cost for the beneficiaries of the scheme. Also, the enrollment procedure will require minimal paperwork.

Moreover, in Ujjwala 2.0, migrants will not be required to submit ration cards or address proof. A self-declaration for both ‘family declaration’ and ‘proof of address’ will suffice.

After the formal launch on Tuesday, the prime minister distributed free gas connections to 10 women virtually. Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath also attended the event and physically passed on the benefits to 10 women.
